Hello,
I'm currently facing an issue with my fedora account.
I would like to add new python packages to Fedora. So I followed the process for my package https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1258405
The package was approved. At the SCM step, I flagged my ticket with the "fedora-cvs=?" but unfortunately it was refused because my account seems not part of the Packager group.
My account name is "uggla". Everything (status, cla, etc...) seems ok on the Fedora account web page. There is nothing listed at the "things to do" page. Looking at the "join a group" section, I have not the "join button" in front of the Packager group allowing me to do it.
I had opened my account and submitted packages several years ago but didn't use it for a long time, maybe this is the root cause of the issue.
Right now I'm stuck with this problem. Please, could someone help/advice me to unlock this situation ?
Best regards. René

If you're not a current packager, a sponsor must do your first review. Looking at the ticket history, I don't see that the ticket was ever marked to indicate that a sponsor is required.
The bit it appears that you missed is at: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Join_the_package_collection_maintainers#Creat...
(Yes, there are too many steps on that page. There's an application in development to simplify this process.)
RR> The package was approved.
But by someone who shouldn't have reviewed it, and who cannot give you access to the packager group.

That's because you cannot join the packager group yourself; a sponsor must add you to it.

I should add that if I had the time at the moment I'd go over the review and sponsor you myself, but I just don't. Hopefully another sponsor can take a look.

Hello,
Thanks for your quick answer. To be honest, I thought that I didn't need a sponsor because I already had done that step previously (quite a long time ago : https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=564567).
Sorry If I did something wrong that was not wished. That will be great if a sponsor could help me to fix that. I have also opened other tickets for new packages, will they need to be reviewed by a sponsor as well ?
Best regards. René.

Wait, if you've already been sponsored and have a package in dist-git, you should be in the packagers group. What's going on here?

Revoked due to inactivity.

That's not something we've done in the past. At worst the account would have been disabled but that's not the case here. Do you have any pointers to a discussion about this?
Anyway, I've re-done the sponsorship thing.

OK, so I was wrong. There was one incident four years ago when we required that all users change their passwords and upload fresh SSH keys. (And obviously my memory doesn't store much data for four years.)
After about six weeks, if someone took no action then they were removed from some sensitive groups.

The intent was always for folks to get their access back if they returned (and set up new passwords and keys).

Yes, I still have that email in archive. But not sure if it's the cause.

I've no clue, but since somehow that package made it all the way through the system and was imported. If sponsorship didn't happen then I've no idea. The gwaei package has been retired for some time now.
Anyway, I've fixed things. (At least I hope I have.) René, go ahead and re-raise the fedora-cvs flag and proceed with the process.

I would like to thank everybody for the provided help and especially Jason. I have received mail saying that I should be part of the packager group.
I will request again the SCM part and I'll keep you posted if something wrong will happen again, hopefully not.
