I guess because man scrollkeeper-update says that messages are suppressed by "-q" option but for "the most serious warning and error messages"?

Before you spend too much time worrying about scrollkeeper snipplets, you should be aware that we are about to obsolete scrollkeeper by a new system that does away with the need for such snipplets (rarian).
