there is no more plasma! I don't recall the names/numbers of the update, but there were 62 packages. Since there had also been a new 4.17 kernel in the update just minutes previously and I hadn't rebooted, I did this update, too, and powered off for the night. This morning, using both the new 4.17 kernel and the last of the 4.16 kernels, trying both plasma on xorg and on wayland, I log in and there us just a black display with a mouse pointer. I had to resort to gnome in order to be able to have a desktop at all. That happened? Is there some undocumented dependency that did not get pulled into the update that I need to install? I tried doing an update just moments ago, but it says the system is up-to-date.
I just went to the site of the copr and it says the build failed. Why did dnf pull it in, if it failed? I followed the fag to enable the copr.
Hi,
unfortunatelly the 5.13.1 release of plasma-desktop was broken and failed to start with Qt < 5.11 - which was not discovered until someone (me included) actually tried it. Fixed 5.13.1.1 was released today and is available in copr. The old build was failed, but only for rawhide, which I did not care as the same stuff is already present in rawhide directly.
Rgds, Martin

Also, you might need to clean the dnf cache first (dnf clean all) in order to get the 5.13.1.1 update.

Ok, thanks. I knew there was something weird here. I downgraded and everything's normal, but the upgrade widget tells me that 62 packages are now available! So, you're sure these are the new ones and not the ones I just got rid of? ;-) I will do what you say, clean the cache... and wait until tonight before trying it. The sun's shining and the wind is howling, alas! :-( but the motorbike is calling.
Yep, I am currently using it and it works flawlessly. Enjoy the ride! :)

Please follow the standard practice of quoting at least part of what you're commenting on. The broken HyperKitty interface doesn't do this by default, but apparently can be arm-twisted into doing so. A proper mail client is preferable.
