I have been told that gnome updater installs also new versions of bios/firmware on machines (probably using fwupd). Do you know if Fedora KDE Spin GUI updater does that too?

plasma-pk-updater is currently packagekit-only (so no fwupd support, or flatpak either for that matter).

This GSoC project is for plasma-discover.
Mind you, fedora uses plasma-pk-updater, not discover's update applet. That may change when if discover's applet becomes more appealing.
