well, what about read the list-footer and do it yourself because you subscribed yourself and mailing.ists are not maintained in this context?
as well as *any* mailing-list has list-headers in each message

One who does not see the list footer will not read the list footer. Some email apps hide a line that contains only "-- " and whatever follows it.

"-- " is the begin of a signature and the intention of this is *not* include footers and signatures in replies *but not* to supress it completly and it's done this way in case of footers because most people are too dumb for strip quotes in their replies
however, any mailing-list on this planet will send you a welcome message with instructions how to post, change your settings and unsubscribe and nobody can help read such mails and instructions
on no mailing-list at all you send "unscubscribe" to all subscribers in the hope someone does your job - honestly it scares me how often people act blindly in this context and not use a search machine in doubt

I don't use such an app, and neither do I have an inventory of which apps do do this. Those that do it I'm sure either do it intentionally and/or aren't apps that a user could report a bug against (e.g. web mail). I was merely pointing out that not every apparent dummy that seems to have forgotten where his instructions for undoing his subscription, if or whether he has any such thing, or even if he is getting mail because he created a subscription in the first place, can be assumed to have not read the footer's instructions intentionally.

List admin intent cannot control the apps its subscribers use.

the really dumb in your whole argumentation is that the footer of this list does *not* start with a "-- " line and so there is *no* excuse for a silly "unsubcribe" message which in case of this thread even would not have worked out if one is not able to type "unsubscribe" instead "unsucrube"
or do you now come up and explain me that mail-clients also not display content after a line with "_______________________________________________ "?
so no, *zero* understanding for people blowing out mindless unsubscribe-mails to the whole list and before someone starts to argue that my responses are more harm then the useless message - *no* they may prevent 50 other users in the future acting in the same mindless way without consult google or read instructions in welcome messages or list-footers
my main question is: how did people not learned to read manage to subscribe?

it is a great shame that you would rather write lengthy dissertations bashing someone who obviously is not as literate as you try to present your self.
is it not obvious to you that someone who spells "unsubscribe" as "unsucrube" may have other disabilities?

to manage unscrubscribe from a list it does not need to be "literate"
is it not obvious to you that someone who spells "unsubscribe" as "unsucrube" may have other disabilities?
and that is why my first reply contained the list-footer again as well there would have been no "lengthy dissertations" if smart asses like Felix Miata shut up after a correct answer

that your first answer was a silly excuse for the OP about mails with "-- " lines which is not the case ofr the list-footer here?
so *shut up* if you even do not konw what you said in your first reply and strip it form the quotes so that anybody hopefully thinks i am the ass instead why you are answering clueless

How do I connect with whoever is in charge of Fedora lists?
I would really, *really*, like to suggest that they make a "I have no real purpose in life but I would *really* like to bitch and argue about something' list?
I see a *lot* of need for this list lately. Some people argue and bitch about the *shade* of blue that is the sky. :-)

good question. do not recall seeing such.

something like what mozilla's "mozilla.general" would be nice.

What does that have to do with anything? You have no knowledge of the process the dummy used to produce his dumb message.

How do dumb people do anything dumb? They're dumb. Dumb people do dumb stuff, including not doing stuff they should do.
Dumb people will continue to do dumb stuff. Dumb people will still manage to produce more dumb people, get onto mailing lists, and produce stupid and unnecessary messages requesting instructions how to get off of a mailing list. Get over it. Make a filter that includes such strings as "unsu", "scribe", "get me off", "how do I", "please help" and "problem with" if dumb posts bother you so much.

i will "+1" your opinion of reindl.
but, your use of 'dummy' gives you a "-2". :=)
there is a big differance between a _dummy_, a _stupid_person_, and a _non-literate_ person.
a _non-literate_ can become _literate_. :=D

where in such a description, reindl can fall. ;=)

Some people use the word "dummy" as a slang term to mean a class that includes any of the following, and probably others:
fool ignorant illiterate naive obstreperous ornery stupid
I did exactly that because I have no idea why the OP did what he did.

it would be quite obvious to conclude from the headers of the original message that the person was using the gmail web interface. I assume it was not a cat running across the keyboard but I could be wrong of course.

even more so, one does not see what is in _headers_, a part of which, reindl posted, unless the use;
<ctrl+u> or <alt+v><alt+o>
and has nothing to do with "-- " which relates to hiding a _sig_ and has nothing to do with a 'fedora footer'. except when it follows a 'hidden' sig.
well if you ask me, which of course no-one did, I would say the op has read something and is nearly there...
he sent an email with unsubscribe as the subject, as directed
except he just spelled it wrong and sent it to the wrong address.
