It works well for me, so I will continue to "abuse" the "bug" for documentation purposes.
My personal opinion is that this thread is making a big deal out of nothing.
Provided what you say: +1 to Tibbs' initial proposal on banning Requires(hint)
Rationale: It's undocumented, error-prone pollution to spec files, which is likely to show harmful effects once rpm/yum/apt etc. should start support it.
