Stripping 'jpp' works fine (at least according to my quick-n-dirty use of rpmdev-vercmp:
1.0-1jpp < 1.0-2 < 1.0-2jpp
Until Fedora does a 1.0-3 to fix something, with the -3 still being split from the 1jpp, never having acquired the fixes from 1jpp->2jpp
