Students as a marketing/outreach audience (Reviving the University Outreach Objective?)

At the Fedora Council meeting today, Eduard mentioned work from both CommOps and Marketing to reach out to universities and students. This is cool, but I'd *really* like to see it in concert with reviving the University Outreach objective (which sort of trailed off when Remy moved on). Additionally, I'd like to make sure we align this with the audiences identified by the Editions -- "students" alone is very broad! -- and with the revised Fedora mission statement. -- Matthew Miller <mattdm(a)fedoraproject.org> Fedora Project Leader

Instead, we spend the first few minutes of the meeting deciding what topics will be discussed. This is not a "let's move Fedora to github!" message. I think, though, we can do something better with <https://github.com/fedoraproject>. We already have presense on platforms like Facebook and Twitter, and I think this is a missed opportunity currently. Does anyone object to a) making this page official? b) adding a brief blurb explaining the fedora project and pointing to http://getfedora.org/ c) possibly adding a document pointing to various Fedora-related stuff that *is* on github? -- Matthew Miller <mattdm(a)fedoraproject.org> Fedora Project Leader

Monkeying with words: "Objective Lead" to "Initiative Lead"

When we wrote https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Council#Objective_Leads, I anticipated that we'd have people asking to create official objectives than we can handle. Instad, we have the other way around. In talking to some people, I find that people find the concept a less self-explanatory than I hoped it to be. I'd like to fix this. One quick thing I'd like to do is change "Objective" to "Initiative", which seems to be more intuitively understood.
