Should we move the Flock date window?

Hi All, In the Council meeting this week, we noted that Flock lands in late August/early September and this is high tourist season in Europe. It is also a time when many take vacation. This drives prices up across many of the regions. We wondered aloud if we could shift Flock to dates outside of this window. The two most likely alternatives would be sometime in July or sometime in November. We also noted that we should try and avoid conflicting with any other major open source conference, and that July and November seem to fit within that small goal. There are pros and cons with each date window, but we wanted to see how feasible people thought this would be. Thoughts? josh

Updated Flock 2016 Vienna Bid

Flock Planners, The Vienna bid has been updated, and can be found here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Flock2016-Vienna-proposal I'm going to respond and ask the proposal leads to include more granular airline information. Right now they list US->Berlin, but we should get direct flight info from like JFK and IAD at the very least I'd say. Flock software proposal

I put together a wiki page with the plan for software/site support for Flock 2016 here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Flock_2016_software We're working to move the content site to a simple fedora-websites module (as we do with other Fedora sites like getfedora.org). I'm putting a request in with the Design team to help with the theming so it looks and feels like a Fedora site. Robert Mayr, Ricky Elrod, Ryan Lerch, and some other folks have already agreed to help with this and I expect we'll have something up and running quite soon. If anyone sees something missing from this page, please let me know and I'll hop right into amending it. Jen, if you or anyone else has questions, we'll be having a meetup about the Flock sites/software 3pm EST on Thursday in IRC Freenode #fedora-meeting.
