Next generation software

Thanks to everyone who attended this afternoon's workshop, we have some really good notes about how to get started on a road to better software for next Flock. https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Flock_2016_software The wiki page needs a bit of cleanup (just simple formatting) but it suffices for now if you missed the session and are interested in helping. Flock 2016 bid process open

We haven't quite gotten to this year's Flock, but it's time to start the bid process for next year! We hope doing so will stir some discussions of possible locations during this year's event. Continuing the alternating of continents, we'll be back in Europe for Flock 2016. If you'd like to host next year's event in your city, it's time to start putting together a bid. To find out how, read the wiki page: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Flock_bid_process Bids are not due until after Flock 2015, but you should not wait to start. It takes a significant amount of time to compile the required information for a good bid. Along those lines, keep in mind that committing to help plan a conference is a lot of work and shouldn't be approached lightly. It's a big time commitment, and as the local contact, you're critical to the success of the event. Historically we have held Fedora events on college campuses simply for the reason that this is often free space if we know a student or faculty member there, but it is not a requirement that we be on a campus if we can find other affordable space. For example, Flock 2015 has the assistance of RIT, but we will not be on their campus. Feel free to let us know if you have any other questions or need help getting your bid together. Thanks! quick thoughts

This Flock was great — thanks to the organizers for making everything go so smoothly. I got a lot of feedback that not only were the talks great, but the workshops/hackfests really gelled this year. I think (and also heard from others) that having the conference in the hotel was a big part of this. another idea for next flock

I think it's nice to close the last day with an everyone-there joint session. It could be the last keynote, but everyone is tired by then. This could be the Council panel, but I'm not sure that would be the best as the last. How about we do lightning talks then? Next-gen software: WordPress plugins

So the results of my plugin review thus far are... fairly dismal. In the interest of spreading the joy, I added some brief notes to the software wiki page: https://fedoraproject.org/w/index.php?title=Flock_2016_software&action=hist… In addition, I surveyed a number of additional plugins I found, most of which were designed only for registration for a single-location event, or a series of same, such as a specific repeating or traveling seminar. Presenter laptops or halp need mini hdmi adapter?

Hi, Here I am at the airport realizing I forgot my mini hdmi to hdmi adapter. I dont even know if it would have helped, but all my laptop has is a mini hdmi port for display out.
