Who is turning on my eth1?

Hi All, In Xfce 4.4.2, CentOS 5.6, 32 bit, I have a start up script that turns off eth1 (/sbin/ifdown eth1). Under Xfce 4.8, SL6 64 bit, eth1 is back on when Xfce settles. (I can manually run the script to down eth1.) Anyone have any idea who is doing this? Many thanks, -T -- ------------------------- I Fish. Therefore, I am. -------------------------

Status of Xfce in EPEL

Hi, I am getting nag mails about broken dependencies in ristretto in EPEL 5: > package: ristretto-0.0.22-2.el5.i386 from fedora-epel-5-i386 > unresolved deps: > libexo-0.3.so.0 > libxfce4util.so.4 > libxfcegui4.so.4 > libthunar-vfs-1.so.2 It seems Xfce in EL5 has vanished, 'koji latest-by-tag libxfce4util' doesn't show anything in EL5. Does anybody know what is going on? While we are speaking of EPEL: Why it Thunar 1.3.0 in EL6? 1.3.x is a development release targeted for Xfce 4.10. It will not be stable until next year. We are not having it in F15 either, F15 has the stable 1.2.x series. Regards, Chrisroph

xdg-open not working for directories

Hi, I am on F14. exo-open or xdg-open keeps opening directories or unknown mime types with evince. Earlier the application associated with application/x-directory was empty; setting it with "xdg-mime default ..." doesn't help in anyway. $ xdg-mime query default application/x-directory Thunar.desktop Can anyone suggest what is wrong? -- Suvayu Open source is the future. It sets us free.

pyxfce package for Fedora

Hi, my name is Raphael Groner. I live in the south-west of Germany. Since some years, I was working with different Linux distributions and have professional experience in programming with C++, Python, and others. I am trying to package pyxfce for Fedora and think about maintaining it, as my first package contribution to Fedora. The guidelines in the wiki have been read, but it's still confusing and I think to need help as a freshman. Maybe someone wants to sponsor me :) The git source does not build with xfce 4.6.2 / Fedora 14. We will need a new upstream release for Fedora 15 that includes already Xfce 4.8. Terminal is missing its dependencies

Hi All, In Scientific Linux 6, Terminal mashes certain letters together. On investigation, I found that Terminal's RPM had no dependencies. I reported this as a bug to Xfce, but they declined it as it is an RPM problem and not theirs. https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7706 Over on the bug, I added a graphic to show the overlap problem: https://bugzilla.xfce.org/attachment.cgi?id=3726 And, if you install nautilus-open-terminal, one of its dependencies solves the Terminal overlap problem. I have documented nautilus-open-terminal's dependencies over on the bug report as well. Would whoever maintains the SL 6 RPM for Terminal please take a look over at the dug and add the proper dependencies into the RPM? Many thanks, -T
