Xfce does not show standard Fedora or gnome icons as replacements for missing oxygen icons

Hi, I did some testing with the oxygen icons theme, commonly designed to be used in or with KDE/Qt. I can imagine a general issue here with inter- opability between the different desktop environments. So there should be a general functionality to support incomplete themes like oxygen seems to be when used in Xfce. When oxygen icons are used in Xfce, some buttons, starters or menu entries loose their icons. As it turns out, hat's due to a configuration issue in the index.theme file. It seems to be related to a common conflict between both themes gnome and hicolor, from both normally gets inherited in gtk theming. But we have a KDE theme here … https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1159366 There are some ideas how we can work around or maybe do a good fix: 1.) The quick and dirty hack: sed -i s-hicolor-Fedora,hicolor- /usr/share/icons/oxygen/index.theme 2.) We can not assume gnome or fedora-icon-theme is always present: one approach here would be to add an explicit dep $somewhere, and then also set that as gtk-fallback-icon-theme in xfsettingsd (suggestion by rdieter via IRC discussion) Note: Fedora theme or gnome themes aren't enforced by any normally installed standard package. Fedora 21 Beta RC4 live images available for early testing

As we're right up against Go/No-Go again (sigh...) it'd be a good idea to get testing rolling early with the live builds, we can at least blow through the desktop tests and quite a lot of the installer tests using the lives. Any help with getting as much of the validation done as possible would be great. XFCE SIG Badge

Hello all, A new Fedora badge has been proposed for "membership in the XFCE SIG": https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-badges/ticket/133 As far as I can see, there is not a formal definition of membership in the group. Some options for awarding the badge: - We could create a new FAS group and trigger the badge awarding off of that. Lots of other badges work this way, so it is easy to do. The only downside is that you have a FAS group with no other real purpose than for handing out badges. It has to be maintained, pruned eventually, etc.. - Or, instead, we could take one or two volunteers from the SIG to be 'in charge' of the badge. There is a self-service interface in the webapp where they could manually award the badge to sig members as they see fit. I'd like to do it however the sig wants it done. Can you hash it out and let the badges crew know by posting back in the trac ticket above? Cheers- -Ralph

I have just installed f20 and can't find the menu editor. It doesn't seem to be in Settings or under System like other xfce distros. It seems I've overlooked something. thanks james.

VDQ : terminal transparency/opacity??

I set the degree of transparency for my mate-terminal, but then I changed the background, and now I can't find the place again where I can adjust the opacity again. (I *think* that place called it transparency rather than opacity.) Clue, please?
