Saaamba..Points to be discussed!!

1. The underscore used to underline the followed character, Where i should put this character '_'? 2. What about the Slash..I find it in the translation itself not the originial script.. Shall i remove it or does it mean anything.. 3. Sometimes i don't know if this word is noun or verb; it could be informative message or window label or action needed from the user..For Example: Create, modify, and delete samba shares = أنشء، عدّل، واحذف مُشاركات سامبا Create, modify, and delete samba shares = إنشاء، تعديل، وحذف مُشاركات سامبا not clear enough to me :) Add a Samba share = أضف مُشاركة سامبا oR[ Samba أضف مشاركة جديدة تحت خادم ] _Add Share = /_ملف/إ_ضافة مُشاركة [why the translation looks like that, shall i change it to إضافة مشاركة] No guest account = guest لا يوجد حساب لمستخدم [did not transilitate the word guest] Visible = مرىء [or مشاركة مرئية] Visibility = رؤية [Not enough to say vision; مدى رؤية المشاركة yuk!! any better suggestion] O_nly allow access to specific users = اسمح بالوصول _فقط لمستخدمين محدّدين or it better to change it to مسموح فقط للمستخدمين المحددين

Samba..

Hi.. I find these two strings was translated as if they were a menu items under "File" or "Help" menu, is this true.. shall we keep it in this way? >"_Add Share" "/_ملف/إ_ضافة مُشاركة" >"Help Contents" "/م_ساعدة/_المُحتويات" Why is there a '/' added at the end.. shall i remove it? >"_File" "/_ملف" Sometimes i need to see the GUI to know where this string located >"_About" it was "حول " i changed it to "حول البرنامج" Anyway.. i didn't scan the rest of the file.. i think there will another round to scan the grammer of the sentence or at least try it and see arabized fedora version to review our work again.. it's not the time to do so anyway. Munzir, have a look on the changes and tell me if there something we need to change. or send me next file.. Maha.

Ali & Jumair.. Are you still there i hope so Both of you, you can start with this article.. it talks about how to configure ur machine to install the needed pkgs of: POEditor and CVS client. http://www.arabic-fedora.org/index.php?option=com_wikidoc&task=viewcontent&… If u get lost, just let me know.. i went through this before. Actually u can have a quick look over all modules and examine their strings and their translations from this link.. http://www.arabic-fedora.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/translate/translate/ but u can't edit these strings just for viewing.. to know about it's all about.. Let me know when you finish setting up your environment.. the next step, you choose file(s) and check them out and then start editing/review the translation strings.. it would be better to discuss over here and vote upon ur modification you'r going to made before u both check them in. Anyway..don't hesitate to ask about anything, we will reply on you.. even if we get little bit late :) Both of you..
