(this is on the main screen when packages are being downloaded) As now a new major release is soon to be released i want to report this to finally remove the issue. The right translation is: 'Pakete' - "Packete" does not even exist. For confirmation you might check www.leo.org or www.duden.de. Zwei Fragen betreffend Koordination/ Deadlines

Hallo Leute, hallo Fabian, Ich habe zwei Fragen: 1.) Betreffend Translation Schedule habe ich die folgende Seite gefunden - http://rbergero.fedorapeople.org/schedules/f-16/f-16-trans-tasks.html. Wenn ich das richtig sehe, würde dies bedeuten, dass wir diese Deadlines im Auge behalten müssen. Konkret hätten wir dann z.B. für F16 ab dem 2. August 35 Tage Zeit zu übersetzen. Sehe ich das richtig? 2. In Transifex sehe ich unter "Project Releases" z.B. noch "Fedora 15 (Lovelock)" sowie "Fedora 15 (Lovelock) Documentation" - Wenn hier Änderungen gemacht werden, sind diese für die Katz, da die Deadline ja schon längst vorbei sein müsste?! Wie steht's mit den "Fedora Upstream Projects" sind diese auch an die selbe Timeline gebunden? Gruß, Roman

Koordination

Bonjour les traducteurs, Also, Fab scheint wohl nicht mehr für die Koordination des deutschen Übersetzungsteams zur Verfügung zu stehen ... Ich wäre bereit, z.B. als Co-Koordinator hier meine Unterstützung und Zeit anzubieten. Das "Co-" auch deshalb, weil ich erst gerade eingestiegen bin und wohl ein erfahrener Übersetzer mit im Boot sein sollte. Wer von euch wäre auch mit dabei? Und was meint Fab dazu? Gemäss Transifex-Liste sind wir ja 15 Leute im DE-Übersetzungsteam. Sind alle noch mehr oder weniger aktiv oder sollten wir hier "aufräumen" bzw. klären, wer noch aktiv übersetzt, bzw. dies zumindest in Zukunft beabsichtigt. Ich möchte hier niemandem auf die Füsse treten, nur denke ich, dass ein Team ohne Koordinator längerfristig nicht wirklich funktionieren kann. Gruss und schönes Wochenende, Roman

Sie oder du?

Ich habe die letzten Tage ein bisschen an der Übersetzung der Webseite geschraubt. Dabei ist mir aufgefallen, dass "you" nicht immer gleich übersetzt wird. Manchmal wird mit der Höflichkeitsform "Sie" übersetzt und manchmal geduzt. Gibt es hier Richtlinien? Ich denke, die die Höflichkeitsform professioneller wäre - oder ist das "du" näher am Community-Gedanken dran? Gruss, Roman

Hi Kévin It seems that the German language translation team is not very active though ... I joined it a few weeks ago ... And it seems that Fabian doesn't want to continue his work as coordinator. What is more I just got replies from two team members on my questions so far ... I already quoted my opinion as a Swiss citizen about the website and I still think that it is definitely not worth to translate a Swiss German version as there is no official orthography and I think we could agree on a consistent spelling for the German language version - But I guess, it would be interesting to get Fabian's opinion as well and Robert Scheck's who was quite emotional about this topic ... Remove Language "Schwyzertütsch"

Hi Fedora Website Team, I recently joined the German language translation team. When visiting www.fedoraproject.org I am automatically redirected to the Swiss German version called "Schwyzerdütsch" due to I am Swiss, but actually there does not exist a translated version in Swiss German yet. What is more in the German part of Switzerland there isn't any standardized orthography and there are many different dialects as well. So it would be even difficult to agree on a unique Swiss German version. The official written language in the German part of Switzerland is "normal" German. So I suggest to remove the Swiss German language and redirect the Swiss German users to the German site by default. That would make more sense. A "Swiss-German" version could be a "fun-thing", but I think we do not have the ressources anyway (yet).
