Translator role approval problem

Hi, All, a new translator (Alexander Felda, user name *afeld*) tries to become a translator for Russian group. He successfully performed all necessary steps as described in https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/L10N/Guide to join the group, but still cannot get access to translations. Now he is present in Fedora Translators Group (cvsl10n) member list as *afeld*, there is no sponsor, status is unapproved and role jusst a user. About moving Chinese translations(zh_Hans/zh_Hant) of website to zh_CN and zh_TW languages in Weblate

Hello guys, The weblate platform performs very well after the migration. However we(zh_CN and zh_TW teams) are having some teeny issues with it. That is both of the Chinese translations of Feodra website project are now under zh_Hans[1] and zh_Hant[2] language codes in Weblate. Like the other projects, the website project should be moved back to zh_CN and zh_TW language codes respectively. The reason for doing this are: 1. I don't want the new contributors confused. They may start the website translation completely from zh_CN or zh_TW language. Since the new platform doesn't have a approve procedure, the team or the coordinator won't know any new contributor, so they don't have the chance to tell the new one to pay attention to this issue. 2. Weblate will be lighter, with 2 unused language codes removed, the maintenance work may become easier. I've opened an disscusion on pagure[3] too, I think website project is OK with this change. So I hope our weblate administrators could help us on this. Thanks. Translation of iputils

These tools are included in iputils arping clockdiff ninfod ping rarpd rdisc tftpd tracepath traceroute6 After consulting with its developers, I have decided to add the translation to Fedora Weblate [2]. I maintain an unofficial project nicknamed Kinoite that provide variants based on the KDE, XFCE, LXQt, Deepin, Mate and Pantheon desktop environments for Fedora Silverblue. To help Silverblue systems run applications in Flatpaks, I am working on packaging as many KDE applications as possible in Flatpaks for Flathub and Fedora. Translating Comp-NeuroFedora lab page (Was: Web mainpage translation to Portuguese (Brazil))

Hello, We received this e-mail from a contributor informing us that the pt_BR translation for the Comp-NeuroFedora lab page wasn't complete: https://labs.fedoraproject.org/pt_BR/comp-neuro/ I looked at weblate, and it does indeed say that the translation for the labs.fp.o is complete: https://translate.fedoraproject.org/projects/fedora-websites/labsfedoraproj… If I search for "neuro" in strings, we don't get anything back either. However, the source of the page seems to suggest that it is set up for translations: https://pagure.io/fedora-websites/blob/master/f/labs.fedoraproject.org/data… Is there anything else that one needs to do to "set up" new content for translation so that strings appear on weblate? Fedora Documentation localization status report

Dear translators, first of all, congratulation to the teams who translated Fedora Docs. Here is the top 10 in number of words translated [1]: Language code Word translated id 226,094 (this is 11.20% of all words) tr 134,243 fr 70,452 pt_BR 47,843 uk 47,641 es 26,445 nl 21,398 cs 16,553 pl 10,295 (this is 0.51% of all words) This page tells us Indonesian team translated 45% of the install guide: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/fr/docs-l10n/language/id/ Which is quite a lot of work and explains the high number :) Note for future, we should probably identify sub-sets of Fedora docs to track progress, as the numbers are huge and some of it doesn't really requires translation (packaging guideline) Recent changes: * Announcement was done: https://communityblog.fedoraproject.org/fedora-documentation-is-now-multili… * since July 16th, we are using po4a 0.60 instead of 0.57. In July, shoot the quality checks errors in Fedora Weblate

Dear translator teams, Weblate provides quality checks : https://translate.fedoraproject.org/checks/ for all languages. It tells us Weblate detected 187 563 quality checks errors, out of them 9 485 are ignored, and 178 078 are to be fixed (or ignored). This page is available for each language : * In top menu, click on "Language" button and select your language, * In your language page (in my case: https://translate.fedoraproject.org/languages/fr/ ) * Click on "Tools" > "Failing checks" (in my case https://translate.fedoraproject.org/checks/?lang=fr ) Often, failing checks goes by group, fixing one solve many. Checks I like are: * translation inconsistencies between components: https://docs.weblate.org/en/weblate-4.1.1/user/checks.html#inconsistent * same plurals : https://docs.weblate.org/en/weblate-4.1.1/user/checks.html#same-plurals Quality checks are a good opportunity to stop-by a translation and review it, search for common mistakes or typographic issues. Translations with wrong format in "Fedora's Mission and Foundation"

Hello all, My comment is about this page: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/ This page contains the four Fedora's foundations in sort of a 2x2 table layout, where the four foundations are presented as level 3 headings. The English page looks OK, but in every other language the foundations' level 3 headings are broken. The foundation names are displayed, but not as headings. This can be confirmed in Turkish (tr), Dutch (nl), Portuguese (pt_PT), Brazilian Portuguese (pt_BR) and Indonesian (id). This issue could be related to the current bad split of the 2x2 table in translation strings. The "Freedom" text is in one translation string, and the other three foundations are in another string. I tried looking at the pages' source code, but haven't found anything wrong in it (https://pagure.io/Fedora-Council/council-docs/blob/master/f/project/modules…). Does anyone know how to solve this wrong format in this page's translations? Best regards, Rafael Fontenelle
