Translation Quick Start Guide

Hi, First of all, I am sorry that I broke the schedule totally which myself made. Finally the mystery is solved, thus now I am able to push this document. It is all manual work, taking certain time. http://docs.fedoraproject.org/translation-quick-start-guide/ There is possible that some translation update have not been appeared. This is because totally my shaky git operation. Please shout if yours not updated, so that I can quickly jump in, correct and push it again. The following language have been pushed: German, Greek, Spanish, French, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Punjabi, Polish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Serbian, Chinese (Simplified) Those languages contain build error, I need to investigate. Some tag error can possibly be a cause, it would be appreciated if translator also can have a look: Indonesian, Malay, Swedish This language should come up very soon. I need some work on my side. FUEL Marathi Evaluation Meet

Hi, FUEL (https://fedorahosted.org/fuel/) workshop on standardizing frequently used terminology for Marathi computing is being organized on 31st July - 1st August 2009. This meet is being hosted by C-DAC, Pune. In this meet, people from different field will discuss and evaluate FUEL entries for Marathi language available in the applications that are being used frequently by normal users. The final evaluated list of FUEL Marathi will be available on line post workshop on FUEL website. FUEL (Frequently Used Entries for Localization) aims at solving the Problem of Inconsistency and standardization across the platform. It will try to provide a standardized and consistent look of computer for a language computer users. FUEL Marathi Evaluation Meet is a move to discuss the problem and come with the evaluated translation of the FUEL entries list created by choosing frequently used entries from important applications. Zikula CMS

Hi L10n team, I wanted to drop a note to let you know that discussions about the new Zikula content management system (CMS) are happening on the logistics list: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/logistics It would be a great idea for someone from the L10n Steering Committee to be on that list, and participating in the discussions about Zikula when they happen. The Zikula community is participating with Fedora in our development and rollout, and is also keenly interested in finding ways to hook Zikula effectively to L10n infrastructure. The content that is provided in Zikula will include general information about Fedora, marketing materials, news, and other useful data. If we want to be able to localize/translate that data, it would be infinitely more helpful to have some L10n team input. Dimitris Glezos is already present in a number of Fedora meetings, and therefore I would ask that someone else on the L10n infrastructure committee, like Ankit and/or Asgeir, join up on that list to participate where it's helpful. The traffic is not extremely high but I suspect there will be more intendse discussions about Zikula details and inter-team coordination as we get closer to an actual roll-out. -- Paul W. Looking for pointers wrt metrics for LISA QA 3.1

Hi, I wondered unlike Quality Assurance/QA metrics which exists for Software Development projects, are there any QA metrics defined for Localization QA ? Thereby, I came across two such specifications namely --- SAE J2450 and LISA QA 3.1. Metrics for SAE J2450 model is available at http://www.apex-translations.com/documents/sae_j2450.pdf, but I couldn't locate any such document for LISA QA 3.1 model. Any pointers/point-of-contact wrt "metrics for LISA QA 3.1 model/specifications" would be helpful. Thanks, sandeeps

Publican versions of "minor" docs

In each case, the conversion and update has added a few new strings and created many fuzzies. Translation at 99%-How to get that 100%?

Hi, These last couple of weeks I've been busy at university with exams and stuff, but I finally completed bosnian translation for Fedora 11 Users Guide...or so I thought. When I look at https://translate.fedoraproject.org/languages/bs/collection/fedora/fedora-1… it says the translation is only 99% completed. But here: http://docs.fedoraproject.org/user-guide/f11/ the translated Users Guide shows among four versions (Bosanski | US English | Español | Nederlands).
