Publican 3.0 translations

Hi all -- I'm happy to announce that Publican 3.0 is rapidly approaching General Availability. This is a major revision that has been a long time in development -- so long that some newer members of the group might not know what it is! Publican is the publication system used to generate all the formal Fedora documentation published on docs.fedoraproject.org. To get Publican 3.0 ready for release, we need updates in three places: 1. The "Document Conventions" text that appears at the start of all our longer manuals. It's the "Conventions" file in the "Publican Common Content" project here: https://translate.zanata.org/zanata/iteration/view/publican-common/3 2. the "Fedora Feedback" text that tells readers how to offer suggestions about Fedora manuals: https://translate.zanata.org/zanata/iteration/view/publican-fedora/3 3. a single string in the Publican software itself: "Translation files synchronised with XML sources %1-%2" in: https://translate.zanata.org/zanata/iteration/view/publican/3 -- Publican embeds this string into the Revision History of translated books, so it is highly visible to readers! Other strings in that file are for the Publican command-line output itself. We would really appreciate translations here too, but nothing else in the file is critical. The "%1-%2" in this string is the version number of the English text that was synchronised when somebody last ran "update_po" for your language, for example, "Translation files synchronised with XML sources 2.2-14" Feel free to add your word for "version" before or after that number if your syntax requires it! :) It's really important to the Publican team that we support as many languages as completely as possible. FAS Release

Greetings, I've been asked to handle this coming FAS release, and as part of the release process, I was instructed to write to this list and ask about getting the new strings translated for the final release. The transifex project for FAS is found here: https://fedora.transifex.com/projects/p/fas/ I've also been asked to include the following information: * The staging fas server can be looked at for the running code: https://admin.stg.fedoraproject.org/accounts/ * Code can be viewed at http://git.fedorahosted.org/cgit/fas.git/tree/ * The date of the release will be Friday, September 28, 2012 -- 10 days from this message. * I will try to pull in translations to staging (see the above link) every day or two over the next 10 days, so that translators can see their changes in a live environment. Name: Nik Kalach Location: Moscow, RU Login: nikka Language: Interlingua About You: Hi, I am working in engineering company and dealing with clients and partners in some Latin American and Asian countries. I have to communicate with people speaking many different languages and not all of them are fluent in English. It made me interested in Interlingua, a language derived from common vocabulary of English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and German languages and having a grammar based on a minimal subset of the grammatical features of the source languages but without their irregularities. As a result, people fluent in Western European languages can understand texts in Interlingua without studying the language. It makes me think that Interlingua can play a role of an auxiliary language of the Fedora Documentation project. You and the Fedora Project: I have been using Fedora as my favourite desktop for a long time. I would like to create Interlingua translation team and become a maintainer of this language in the Fedora l10n team, Bugzilla and Transifex. I am Interlingua maintainer on Zanata already. As my first contribution, I have prepared the translation of the Publican resources to Interlingua. I hope it will be easier to submit Interlingua translations after we create Interlingua L10N team.

Fedora Power Management Guide - duplicate languages removed

Hi everyone, I declared on this list back in June that the Fedora Power Management Guide on Transifex was ready for translation, but it turned out to have a number of duplicate languages through different lang codes and likely had for some time. I've been working to fix this since then. Thanks to invaluable help from Petr Kovar, the Power Management Guide is now cleaned up on Transifex and there are no duplicate languages. If you were waiting to start on translation of this guide for Fedora 17 because of this confusion, please feel free to begin.
