It would be helpful if there was an interface in Weblate for a slow internet connection.
a) It may be helpful to run speed tests and peform some of the optimizations at:
https://fedoramagazine.org/design-faster-web-pages-part-1-image-compression/ https://fedoramagazine.org/design-faster-web-pages-part-2-image-replacement/ https://fedoramagazine.org/design-faster-web-pages-part-3-font-css-tweaks/
b) It may also be helpful to have a mostly text interface for low bandwith connections
Can make these as requests in Weblate directly, but viewpoints from other testers are also helpful, in particular for items that are specific to Fedora.

1+ for this suggestion.
I think this might be possible with this (I have not used this)

Weblate has a lightweight cli client called wlc and a pretty extensive API you can possibly use.

Thanks for the suggestions. WLC not so great at 20Kb/s. Browser (Firefox) is slow but does better. Lynx browser seems to fail on login. Will check out API documentation.

I tried to use wlc but could not get it to work.
My ~/.config/weblate contains:
[weblate] url = https://translate.stg.fedoraproject.org/api key = <my API key here> translation = weblate/master
But it doesn’t seem to work:
$ wlc show Error: Object not found on the server (maybe operation is not supported on the server) $ wlc list-components Error: Object not found on the server (maybe operation is not supported on the server) $
Does anybody know what I am doing wrong?

I've tried on a docker machine and found the following: 1. Config should be stored under ~/.weblate 2. The "translation=" key should have a real value such as "ibus-typing-booster/app" (if I'm not mistaken) 3. There's a bug in wlc where the urls are missing a slash, this is why you're seeing this error: DEBUG:urllib3.connectionpool:https://translate.stg.fedoraproject.org:443 "GET /apiprojects/ HTTP/1.1" 404 None Error: Object not found on the server (maybe operation is not supported on the server)
I'll try to submit it to Michal and send you the issue number so you can follow. Yaron Shahrabani

Thank you!
I've discovered the problems with the current configuration: 1. The "url" should end with / (will be fixed in 1.2). 2. The "translation" does not exist, you should try changing it to "app/ibus-typing-booster".
Kind regards and sorry for the late response. Yaron Shahrabani
